Crux AI Cloud Venture Hits Delays Amid Big Tech AI Ambitions
Alphabet Inc.'s cloud venture, Crux AI, has hit delays at major data-center locations where Google's chips were supposed to run. The project, internally known as 'Project Braid', was launched with $5 billion from Blackstone Inc. and aims to rent Google AI processors to customers in 2027.
The setbacks underscore the obstacles facing Big Tech's AI ambitions. Crux AI joins a growing number of neoclouds, entities that lease chips and computing capacity.
