Cypress Creek Launches $180M Washington Solar Project with Microsoft as Long-term Offtaker
Cypress Creek Energy has announced the commercial operation of its Ostrea Solar project, a new $180 million renewable energy facility in Yakima County, Washington. The 104 MWdc facility comes online at a time when Washington State is experiencing rising energy demand.
The project's power purchase agreement (PPA) with Microsoft, headquartered in Redmond, Washington, will serve as its long-term offtaker for electricity and environmental products generated by the project.
Cypress Creek Energy focused on land management and environmental stewardship during the development process. The project design was modified to conserve approximately 275 acres of critical shrubsteppe habitat, while also creating wildlife corridors and clearing invasive species from the site.
