Czech National Bank Boosts Stake in Disney Amid Record Earnings
The Czech National Bank increased its stake in The Walt Disney Company by 2.4% during the second quarter, acquiring an additional 11,812 shares for a total of $47,574,000. As of the end of the most recent quarter, the bank owned 494,278 shares of Disney's stock.
Disney reported strong quarterly earnings, with adjusted EPS of $2.06 beating analysts' estimates and revenue rising 6.8% year over year to $25.25 billion. Segment operating income increased 21%, driven by stronger Experiences and Entertainment results.
The company's streaming service, Disney+, reportedly saw its operating income more than double to $712 million. CEO Josh D'Amaro mentioned the possibility of evolving Disney+ into a broader fan ecosystem incorporating games, merchandise, interactive features, and creator content.
