Czech National Bank Raises NVIDIA Stake to $1.379 Billion
The Czech National Bank (CNB) has significantly increased its holdings in NVIDIA Corporation ($NVDA) over the past quarter, according to a recent filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The bank acquired an additional 276,090 shares of NVIDIA during the second quarter, representing a 4.2% increase in its overall holdings. As of the most recent filing, the CNB owns approximately $1.379 billion worth of NVIDIA stock, making it the company's largest holding at around 7.5% of the bank's portfolio.
This growth in NVIDIA holdings is part of a broader trend of institutional investors increasing their stakes in the semiconductor company. Other notable buyers include Lifetime Wealth Management P.C., Longview Financial Advisors Inc., and Phillip James Consulting Co., which have all purchased new positions in NVIDIA over the past few quarters. However, some analysts have expressed concerns about the potential risks associated with AI financing, including power, labor, and chip-supply bottlenecks.
NVIDIA has been a top performer in the tech sector this year, driven by strong demand for its graphics processing units (GPUs) in the gaming, data center, and artificial intelligence markets. The company's latest quarterly earnings report exceeded expectations, with revenue up 85.2% from the same period last year.
