D23 Expo Brings Major Announcements from Disney's Theatrical and Streaming Slate
Disney's D23 Entertainment Showcase wrapped up its weekend event with a flurry of announcements and reveals. The showcase featured news about upcoming Disney theatrical and streaming releases, including X-Men, Star Wars, Frozen 3, and more.
The biggest reveal was Adam Driver as Mr. Sinister in the new MCU X-Men movie reboot. Other cast members announced included Inde Navarrette (Rogue), Maya Boyd (Storm), Samara Weaving (Emma Frost), and Kit Connor (Cyclops). The movie is set to release on May 5, 2028.
Star Wars: Starfighter was also a major focus of the showcase. Ryan Gosling stars as Cade Oberon in the film, which takes place in a previously unexplored period of the Star Wars universe. A trailer for the movie was shown, and it is set to release on May 2027.
Frozen 3 received its first look at the D23 showcase. Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel, who play Anna and Elsa respectively, were joined by Josh Gad (Olaf) for a song-and-dance routine. The movie is set to release in Fall 2027.
