D23 Unveils Future of Disney Parks with Reimagined Attractions and Lands

Disney enthusiasts gathered at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event 2026 for a massive dose of news and announcements about upcoming theme park updates, new attractions, and experiences. Hosted by Neil Patrick Harris, the Horizons: Disney Experiences Showcase gave fans a sneak peek into the future of Disney Parks, with Imagineers, leaders, and storytellers revealing details about transformative projects worldwide.

The showcase featured surprise performances from Grammy Award-winning artists Sheryl Crow, Beck, Los Lobos, and Gloria Gaynor, along with celebrity appearances and a tribute to Disney Audio-Animatronics. Disney Experiences Chairman Thomas Mazloum revealed plans for reimagined attractions and lands at various destinations, including Tropical Americas, Monstropolis, the Cars-themed area, and Villains Land at Walt Disney World Resort.

The evening also brought news of new Marvel experiences planned for Hong Kong Disneyland and Shanghai Disney Resort, as well as a Lion King-themed area coming to Disneyland Paris. EPCOT fans were thrilled with the announcement of Journey Into Imagination's complete reimagining, featuring Figment and Dreamfinder's return.
