Daiichi Life Insurance Takes Stake in Salesforce Amid Bullish Sentiment
Daiichi Life Insurance Co. Ltd., a Japanese insurance company, has taken a significant stake in Salesforce Inc. (NYSE:CRM) by purchasing 32,765 shares of its stock in the second quarter.
The investment is valued at approximately $5,133,000 and represents a new position for Daiichi Life Insurance in the CRM provider's stock.
This move comes on the heels of other institutional investors and hedge funds buying and selling shares of Salesforce. Fred Alger Management LLC, for example, grew its holdings in Salesforce by 0.3% during the third quarter, while Synergy Financial Group LTD lifted its stake in the company by 2.4%.
Salesforce's recent earnings report showed a revenue increase of 13.3% year-over-year, with EPS reaching $3.88, above consensus estimates. The company has set its FY 2027 guidance at 14.060-14.120 EPS and its Q2 2027 guidance at 3.250-3.270 EPS.
The investment community remains bullish on Salesforce, with analyst ratings ranging from 'buy' to 'strong-buy', and a consensus target price of $249.87. However, some analysts have cautioned that the company's growth may slow or AI monetization may disappoint, potentially turning it into a value trap.
