DataOne's New Jersey Data Centre Faces Permits Controversy

Data centre allegations have emerged in New Jersey, with DataOne's facility accused of operating without required permits. The site, which spans 2.6 million sq ft and is used by Microsoft through a $17 billion Nebius deal, allegedly ran dozens of gas generators without federal permission. According to The Guardian, thermal footage showed 45 out of 62 generators in operation at the Vineland facility.

A former EPA official, Bruce Buckheit, said operations could be violating federal law. He did not elaborate further on what specific laws might be being broken or how the violations were discovered.
