DAX Index Posts Modest Gain as Volkswagen Surges

The DAX Index, a key German stock market index, closed at 26,046 points on Friday after rising by 43 points or 0.17 percent from the previous day.

The increase was led by Volkswagen, which gained 6.78%, followed closely by Porsche Automobil with a gain of 3.96% and Zalando with a rise of 2.89%.

However, some companies performed poorly, including Rheinmetall, Fresenius, and Merck, which fell by -3.19%, -1.35%, and -1.25% respectively.
