Dearborn Group Sues Rubio, US Defense Giants Over Homes Destroyed in Israel's Lebanon Operations
A Dearborn-based civil rights group has filed a federal class-action lawsuit against U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and three major American companies over property destroyed during Israeli military operations in Lebanon.
The Arab American Civil Rights League is suing Rubio, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, and Caterpillar for allegedly failing to properly enforce the Leahy Laws, which restrict U.S. security assistance to foreign military units implicated in human-rights violations.
The lawsuit argues that Rubio and the State Department failed to prevent Israeli military operations from affecting civilians and property, despite knowing of these concerns.
