Decker Steps Down Temporarily Amid Medical Leave at Home Depot
Home Depot CEO Ted Decker has taken a medical leave of absence, which is expected to last for several months. As a result, Senior Executive Vice President Ann-Marie Campbell and CFO Richard McPhail will share leadership responsibilities until Decker's return. Campbell will oversee day-to-day operations, while McPhail will manage the company's financial management and Pro subsidiaries.
The board approved Decker's recommendations for temporary leadership, citing Campbell's and McPhail's experience working together as a reason for confidence in their ability to lead during this time. Neither Campbell nor McPhail's compensation will change due to their new responsibilities.
Decker has been CEO of Home Depot since March 2022. The company reports its second-quarter earnings on Tuesday, and the changes in leadership are not expected to impact operations.
