Decker Takes Temporary Leave from Home Depot Amid Inflation Pressures
Home Depot's CEO, Ted Decker, will take a temporary medical leave of absence for a few months. The 63-year-old executive has been at the helm since March 2022 and has held various senior roles within the company since joining in 2000.
In his stead, Finance Chief Richard McPhail and Senior Executive Vice President Ann-Marie Campbell will oversee CEO operations during Decker's absence. This arrangement was made in alignment with Decker's recommendation, according to Home Depot.
Home improvement chains like Home Depot and Lowe's have been investing in their professional business segments catering to contractors and builders as inflation pressures force consumers to defer smaller projects.
The company will release its quarterly results on August 18. Home Depot declined to comment further on Decker's leave of absence.
