DeepMind Backs 16 APAC Climate-Focused AI Startups with Accelerator Support
Google's DeepMind has selected 16 Asia-Pacific (APAC) organizations to join its AI Planet Accelerator program, focusing on climate resilience, agriculture, and biodiversity issues in one of the world's most vulnerable regions.
The APAC region faces significant environmental challenges, including rising sea levels threatening coastal cities and erratic weather patterns affecting crop yields. Google sees an opportunity to leverage its massive AI infrastructure investments to tackle these problems.
The accelerator program provides access to DeepMind researchers, compute resources, and mentorship for the selected organizations. This support can significantly compress their R&D timelines, making it easier for them to develop and deploy impactful solutions.
