The US Department of Justice (DOJ) has announced its second settlement under the Civil Rights Fraud Initiative, with Deloitte agreeing to pay $21.5 million to the United States and an additional $2.4 million to Indiana and Florida.

This follows a similar settlement with IBM in April 2026 for $17 million, demonstrating that the DOJ's enforcement efforts in this area remain active.

The allegations against Deloitte span nearly 10 years, from January 2017, and claim that the company falsely certified compliance with anti-discrimination requirements in its federal contracts while engaging in challenged race- and sex-based employment practices.

The settlement also includes allegations that Deloitte improperly allocated costs related to these practices to federal government contracts. The agreement describes specific conduct, including taking race or sex into account when making hiring decisions and offering training programs based on demographics.
