Delta Air Lines has stepped up its rivalry with American and United Airlines by introducing a premium perk for the first time. The carrier's credit card portfolio now offers limited-time welcome offers, including two round-trip Comfort certificates and 50,000 bonus miles after spending $10,000 in purchases within six months.

The new offer is available to eligible members of the Delta SkyMiles American Express Card from August 27 to November 4. This perk is part of the carrier's efforts to strengthen its customer loyalty program amid growing competition with other major US carriers.

According to a statement by Delta, this welcome offer is a 'first-of-its-kind' and is designed to provide customers with exclusive benefits and premium travel experiences. The two round-trip Comfort certificates are valid for eligible round-trip travel on Delta-operated flights within the US Lower 48, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
