Delta Boeing 757-200 Returns to JFK After Cabin Pressurization Issue

A Delta Air Lines Boeing 757-200 aircraft returned to John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) after reporting a cabin pressurization issue during a flight to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX).

The crew, which included six members and 155 passengers, declared an emergency and requested priority handling from air traffic control.

DL791 landed safely at JFK shortly after 10:20 a.m. local time, having departed earlier that morning with the intention of operating a roughly five-hour service to Phoenix.

The incident highlights the continued role of the Boeing 757-200 within Delta's fleet, which has retained the aircraft for several decades due to its combination of passenger capacity, performance, and range.
