Delta Flight Evacuated After Fumes Reported in Flight Deck
A Delta Boeing 757-200 was evacuated at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport after fumes were reported in the flight deck.
The aircraft, tail number N555NW, had departed Atlanta bound for Orlando with approximately 200 passengers and six crew members before declaring an emergency and turning back shortly after takeoff.
After landing safely at around 08:00, the crew initiated an evacuation using emergency slides on a taxiway. Passengers were transported by bus back to the terminal.
The FAA confirmed that the aircraft landed safely and will investigate the incident.
