Delta Flight Makes Emergency Landing After Unexpected Pressurization Issue
A Delta Air Lines flight made an emergency landing in Las Vegas on September 6 after experiencing an unexpected pressurization issue. The Boeing 737-900, carrying 174 passengers and six crew members, was about halfway from Los Angeles to Salt Lake City when the problem arose.
The plane rapidly descended from 36,200 feet to 9,000 feet in approximately 10 minutes, according to air traffic control recordings obtained by ATC.com. The pilot requested an immediate descent to 9,000 feet and stated that oxygen masks had deployed.
Delta Flight 2311 safely landed in Las Vegas, where passengers deplaned normally and were rebooked on another aircraft to continue their journey. The airline apologized for the inconvenience caused by the unexpected pressurization issue.
