Derek Thegen Rearden, an accomplished certified financial planner (CFP) and proud Marine, passed away at the age of 84 on August 7, 2026. Born in London, UK, he came to the United States with his late father, Eric Rearden, at a young age and settled in Pennsauken, New Jersey. Derek graduated from Rutgers University in Camden, where he studied business.

Throughout his career, Derek worked as a financial planner for Ameriprise Financial in Voorhees, New Jersey, alongside his sons and son-in-law. He also spent 25 years with Procter & Gamble earlier in his career.

Derek's family described him as the life of the party, who loved hosting gatherings and making every event more enjoyable. His annual Night in Venice party at the bay house was particularly cherished by those close to him. Derek was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, leaving behind a lasting impact on his loved ones.
