Devoted Mother of Six Grandchildren Dies at 71 After Cancer Battle
Margaret 'Maggie' Rollins Stanton passed away on July 25, 2026, at the age of 71, after a seven-month battle with pancreatic cancer. Born in Richmond, Virginia, to David 'Big D' Henry Rollins and Joyce 'Jolly' Petterson Rollins, Maggie was raised in Rockville, Virginia, where she developed a love for learning and leadership.
She was honored as 'Achiever of The Year' among 600 Junior Achievement students during her senior year at St. Gertrude High School and served as senior class president at both the school and the College of William & Mary, delivering commencement addresses at each institution alongside United States Supreme Court Justice William Rehnquist.
Maggie met her husband Robert 'Bob' H. Stanton through Junior Achievement in 1977, and they married in Virginia. The couple had a successful corporate career, with Maggie working in sales for Procter & Gamble before moving to Minnesota to advance their careers and start a family.
