DFA Boosts Stake in Apple Amid Market Challenges
Dimensional Fund Advisors LP (DFA) increased its holdings in Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) by 1.7% during the first quarter, according to a recent SEC filing. The fund now owns approximately 3.1% of DFA's investment portfolio and has made it their second-largest holding.
The increase in Apple shares came from purchasing an additional 979,832 shares during the period. This brings the total number of Apple shares owned by DFA to 58,554,032. The company's market value is now valued at $14,858,200,000, accounting for about 0.40% of Apple's outstanding shares.
This is not an isolated move by DFA, as several other hedge funds and institutional investors have also increased their stakes in Apple during the same period. Human Investing LLC raised its stake by 1.5%, Parallel Advisors LLC lifted its stake by 1.6%, Resolute Wealth Strategies LLC boosted its holdings by 1.7%, Planning Alternatives Ltd. ADV increased its holdings by 6.3%, and Broderick Brian C increased his stake by 4.1%.
The strong institutional support for Apple comes as the company faces challenges in the market, including higher memory and component costs, supply constraints, and uncertainty over Apple Intelligence returns.
