Didi's Cola Ride-Hailing Experiment Hits Bumpy Road with Passenger Concerns
Didi's Premium ride-hailing service has partnered with Coca-Cola to launch a pilot cola service in 12 cities, including Beijing and Shanghai. The move is aimed at creating a differentiated experience for passengers.
The pilot project provides 300ml bottles of Coca-Cola, which are added to the original mineral water in participating premium cars. Drivers receive free incubators and ice packs as part of the activity.
Passengers have mixed reactions to the new service, with some viewing it as a welcome surprise during hot summer days. However, others express concerns about carbonated drinks being unsuitable for morning peak hours or business trips, and the risk of spills and leaks.
The cost of the cola is still unclear, with one driver stating that they need to purchase 96 bottles upfront at a price of 1 yuan per bottle, with a potential discount after completing certain tasks.
