Dimon Warns UK on Bank Tax Increases Amid Lobbying Effort
JPMorgan's CEO Jamie Dimon recently spoke with UK Chancellor John Healey about potential bank tax increases, according to the Financial Times.
During their conversation, Dimon cautioned that higher taxes often lead to jobs moving elsewhere. He pointed to New York's finance sector as an example, where a significant decline in finance positions has occurred due to high tax burdens.
Dimon's comments come as the financial services sector prepares for a major lobbying effort ahead of the upcoming Budget. Last year, he and other bank executives successfully lobbied against higher taxes before the Budget.
