Dimon's AI Threat Prevention Alliance Seeks Corporate Partners
JPMorganChase CEO Jamie Dimon is leading an effort to recruit companies for a new alliance focused on preventing artificial intelligence (AI) threats, according to Reuters.
Dimon personally contacted over 40 CEOs of large banks, IT companies, and other corporations in sectors such as financial services, energy, water, utilities, telecommunications, airlines, railroads, and critical infrastructure industries heavily dependent on technology.
The new group would build on the Alliance for Critical Infrastructure, a organization co-founded by JPMorgan. Dimon's views on AI risks are closely followed due to his position as head of the US' largest bank.
In July, Dimon warned about the dangers of advanced AI systems, comparing them to giving 'ballistic missiles to individuals with Mythos,' in reference to Anthropic's AI model. Banks are now testing this model, but it is separate from the new alliance's efforts.
