Dimons Donate $12 Million to Historically Black Colleges

JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon and his wife Judy have made a significant donation to historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) through their foundation. The $12 million gift will be distributed equally among 12 institutions, with each receiving $1 million to strengthen their permanent endowments.

The funding is intended to help the schools plan for long-term academic, research, and infrastructure needs, as well as provide financial stability. According to UNCF, the recipients were selected based on their leadership, governance, and record of preparing teachers, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.

Jamie Dimon previously served on the board of directors at the United Negro College Fund (UNCF), which facilitated the donation. The gift will be part of UNCF's $1.5 billion capital campaign, establishing the Dimon Fund to Advance Economic Opportunity.
