JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon and his wife Judith have donated $12 million to 12 historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs), as part of a broader effort to support education and career opportunities for young people.

The donation will be used to establish permanent endowments at the selected institutions, providing long-term financial support. The United Negro College Fund (UNCF) announced the contribution on August 20, and it forms part of their $1.5 billion capital campaign.

Jamie and Judith Dimon said in a statement that they were motivated by their own family backgrounds, which emphasized education and upward mobility. They stated: 'As the children of first-generation high school and college graduates, we were raised with a thirst for knowledge and a drive to succeed.'
