Disable Gemini AI Across Your Google Account with These Simple Steps

Google's Gemini AI has been integrated into various Google services, including Gmail. For those who want to disable it across their account, a workaround is available.

To do this, navigate to Settings in Gmail and select 'See All Settings' from the dropdown menu. Scroll down to the 'General' tab and find the 'Google Workspace smart features' section. From here, click on 'Manage Workspace smart feature settings' to access Gemini assistance options.

Toggle off the first option to remove Gemini from Gmail, and the second toggle to disable it across other Google products like Maps, Google Wallet, and Assistant. Note that this may not completely eliminate Gemini's presence, but it will stop its background activity.

Gemini is also integrated with Android phones, Chrome browser, and cloud services like Google Photos. To turn it off in these areas, follow similar steps: disable the AI-powered search feature in Photos by going to Photos Settings > Preferences > Gemini features, and disable all options under AI innovations in Chrome settings.

Finally, if you're using Gemini as your default assistant on Android, switch back to Google Assistant by opening the Gemini app, selecting your profile picture, and scrolling through settings until you see 'Switch to Google Assistant.'
