Disney & ABC Sue FCC Over Retaliatory Campaign Against 'The View' and Late-Night Hosts
The Walt Disney Company and ABC have filed a lawsuit against Donald Trump's Federal Communications Commission (FCC), alleging that the commission has waged a 'retaliatory campaign' against them.
The suit claims that the FCC launched unprecedented investigations and forced early license renewal filings, impacting what airs on The View. Since the investigation began, ABC said it has become 'more circumspect in booking political candidates' and has 'chosen not to air clips' it otherwise would have used because they could count as candidate 'appearances.'
The lawsuit cites Trump's social media posts, including his comments that late-night shows are 'almost 100% Negative to President Donald J. Trump' and his question of whether broadcast licenses should be terminated.
