Disney and Capgemini Sued Over Racial Discrimination and Harassment Allegations

William Lacks, a former IT employee of Disney and Capgemini America Inc., has filed a lawsuit against both companies alleging racial discrimination, harassment, and wrongful termination. According to the suit, Lacks was subjected to racial harassment by his team leader, who made derogatory remarks about Black people and excluded him from team conversations and activities. The team leader also favored newer Latino employees over Lacks, assigning him heavy workloads that eventually led to a hernia.

Lacks was hired as an IT support engineer in 2017 and worked at Disney Studios in Burbank, where he was the only Black employee in his group. He claims that his supervisor laughed when told about the team leader's alleged racism and protected the offender instead of addressing the issues Lacks raised.

Lacks believes he lost his job for complaining about the alleged workplace discrimination, which led to lost wages and emotional distress. The lawsuit seeks unspecified compensatory and punitive damages against Disney and Capgemini America Inc.
