Disney and Frontier Developments Join Forces on New Simulation Game
Frontier Developments, the studio behind popular simulation games like Planet Coaster and Jurassic World Evolution, has partnered with Disney to develop a new game. The upcoming title will be a creative management simulation game, similar to Frontier's existing franchises. According to the studio's CEO, Jo Cooke, the mission is 'to connect a passionate creative community of players with one of the world's most iconic and beloved brands.'
The deal also implies that the new game might feature a Disneyland park creator, given Frontier's expertise in extending its games to licensed properties. The studio has previously worked on Kinect: Disneyland Adventures, which was remastered for later release. Planet Zoo 2 is set to launch in October, and another unannounced Planet sim game is reportedly in development.
The collaboration with Disney further reinforces Frontier's strategy of developing creative management simulation games. The studio will continue to nurture its world-class franchises, including the newly announced Disney game. As Cooke expressed, 'I can't wait to see what our talented teams will create with this amazing opportunity.'
