Disney+ and Hulu Unveil New Releases for August
This August, Disney+ and Hulu are releasing a slew of new movies and shows that cater to diverse tastes. On the drama front, FX's The Shards is a psychological thriller set in 1980s Los Angeles, while Star Wars: Visions Presents, The Ninth Jedi is an anime series that picks up where the shorts left off.
Camp Rock 3, a music-filled summer camp romp starring the Jonas Brothers, hits Disney+ on August 14. Meanwhile, Travis Barker: Louder Than Fear, a documentary about the drummer's life and struggles, premieres on Hulu on the same day.
Futurama Season 14 drops new episodes every week starting August 3, while Furious, a crime thriller starring Emmy Rossum and Lola Petticrew, has new episodes releasing weekly as well. The X-Files: I Want to Believe Vrach Frankenshteyn (2026), Director's Cut is also available on Hulu on August 14.
