Disney and TikTok Unite Creators for Global Fan Content Partnership
The Walt Disney Company has signed a global deal with TikTok to bring fan-created content from the popular social media platform to the Disney+ app. The partnership will allow creators to share their own short-form videos featuring scenes and moments from Disney content, including Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, FX, and more.
The agreement will pilot in the US in the coming months with plans to expand to other markets. Creators who opt-in to the programme will have their content showcased on both TikTok and Verts on Disney+, where it will be refreshed regularly.
TikTok creators will gain access to assets related to hundreds of films and series from Disney's library of franchises, including popular IP. The partnership aims to build communities and engage subscribers in timely fan conversations, ultimately encouraging them to explore more story formats across Disney+.
