Disney Animation Magic Opens September 14th at Hollywood Studios

The Magic of Disney Animation is set to open on September 14th at Walt Disney Studios in Hollywood, bringing new experiences and attractions to the park. The expansion will be located in the spot previously occupied by Star Wars: Launch Bay and will feature four distinct areas for guests to explore.

One area will be an animation class called Olaf Draws, where animatronic Olaf and a Disney animator will teach guests how to draw classic Disney characters. This experience is inspired by the Disney short 'Once Upon A Studio' and will include opportunities to draw popular characters like Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Genie, Moana, Stitch, and Ursula.

Another area called Off The Page will allow guests to meet Disney characters from different departments, including Story, Layout, Hand-Drawn Animation, Computer Animation, Lighting, and Effects. This section will feature character interactions with Mulan in Story, Rapunzel in Layout, Chip n' Dale in Hand-Drawn Animation, and more.

The expansion also includes the Drawn to Wonderland playground, inspired by Mary Blair's artwork for 'Alice in Wonderland'. This area will feature oversized flower gardens with musical instruments, a Mad Tea Party playset, and a Tugley Wood exploration area. Additionally, there will be an immersive theater experience showing the Emmy Award-winning short film 'Once Upon A Studio'.
