'Disney Animation Studios Unveils Next Chapter for Beloved Franchises
D23 2026 attendees got an exclusive look at Walt Disney Animation Studios' upcoming projects. In an interview, Chief Creative Officer Jared Bush discussed his team's new films, including 'Zootopia 3,' which will introduce birds to the franchise.
Bush shared that the film will pick up where 'Zootopia 2' left off and explained how the addition of birds will impact the story. He also mentioned that the new installment is currently in production.
As for 'Frozen III,' Bush revealed that it will continue from where 'Frozen II' ended, and that Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez have written new songs for the film. Bush confessed to having these songs stuck in his head.
The studio's next project is 'Hexed,' a teen witch movie starring Hailee Steinfeld as the protagonist, opposite Jodie Foster as the villain.
