Disney Animators Leave Door Open for Kingdom Hearts Movie
Walt Disney Animation Studios' Chief Creative Officer Jared Bush is sparking hope among Kingdom Hearts fans that a movie adaptation may be on the horizon. When asked about the possibility of a Kingdom Hearts film, Bush replied, 'I'd say I am always excited to hear what people are passionate about. We have a very bright future of new projects coming out, different ways of putting material out into the world. I'd just say nothing is impossible.'
This statement comes as Disney and Square Enix continue to invest in the Kingdom Hearts franchise, with Kingdom Hearts 4 set to release in late 2027 and a delay ruled out. The latest installment will feature a Coco-themed world and an exciting new idea that was previously unachievable due to technical difficulties.
A Kingdom Hearts anime is also currently in production at Disney, with creator Tetsuya Nomura hinting at the original story by pointing fans towards key art.
