Disney Announces Major Overhaul for Tomorrowland at Disneyland
Disney Imagineering announced plans to revamp Tomorrowland at Disneyland in Anaheim during the D23 Horizons presentation. Thomas Mazloum, chair of Disney Experiences, stated that the overhaul will bring back the land's original spirit of optimism and innovation from Walt Disney's vision.
The new Tomorrowland is expected to be completed by 2030, the park's 75th anniversary. Although no concept art or details were revealed, the goal is for the land to resemble a retro-futuristic era, inspired by mid-century modern futurism and NASA's Apollo program.
Several attractions are expected to change, including the People Mover, which might be salvaged from abandoned tracks or rebuilt. The Magic Eye Theater and Starcade may also receive new attractions. The Astro Orbiter is likely to move, possibly replaced by a new spinner ride.
