Disney Brings Interactive Fun to Batuu with New Ewok Companion

Twenty years after Pal Mickey, Disney's latest interactive companion is an Ewok. Introduced in 2003, Pal Mickey was a short-lived but fan-favorite plush that kicked off an interactivity craze in Walt Disney World's parks. The toy used early location-tracking technology to make it feel like Mickey Mouse was experiencing the parks alongside guests.

Pal Mickey's successor is Batuu Buddies, a new line of interactive toys debuting at Droid Depot in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. Starting August 13, 2026, guests can purchase an Ewok companion and customize it with themed gear sets inspired by iconic destinations and beloved characters from across the galaxy.

The Batuu Adventure Buddies experience begins with a visit to a dedicated wall bay inside Droid Depot, where a Cast Member will help guests select their companion and preferred accessories. Once chosen, guests participate in a special activation moment that brings their new friend to life for the very first time.
