Disney Brings Monstropolis to Life in Hollywood Studios

The highly anticipated Monsters, Inc. land is coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World. The new land will be set after the events of the movie, allowing guests to explore Monstropolis on H.U.M.A.N. Day, a goodwill holiday where humans and monsters come together.

The main attraction will be a suspended roller coaster through the door vault of the Monsters, Inc. factory, inspired by the climactic doors scene in the film. However, unlike other Disney attractions that recreate movie scenes, this coaster will have its own unique storyline, where guests play an active role and their screams are part of the narrative.

The Imagineers have taken a different approach to designing Monstropolis, creating a cityscape that is inspired by real-world architecture but with a monster twist. The land will feature various buildings, including Welcome to Monstropolis, an indoor show, Harryhausen's, a table service restaurant, and Archie's Scare Pig Pizza, a quick service restaurant.
