Disney Cast Members Collect Over 155,000 School Supplies for Central Florida

Walt Disney World cast members have once again stepped up to help Central Florida teachers and students prepare for the new school year. The cast members collected over 155,000 school supplies as part of the annual Back-to-School Supply Drive supporting A Gift For Teaching.

This is the tenth year that Disney has hosted this drive, which aims to remove barriers to learning by ensuring teachers and students have access to essential supplies. According to Jane Thompson, President of A Gift For Teaching, 'We're committed to removing barriers to learning by ensuring teachers and students have free access to the supplies they need to succeed.'

The donated supplies will be distributed across five local school districts in Orange, Osceola, Lake, Seminole, and Polk counties. In addition to the supply drive, Disney has also invested $1.3 million in Central Florida education programs this summer.
