Disney CEO D'Amaro Outlines Vision for Disneyland's Future
Disney CEO Josh D'Amaro shared his vision for Disneyland's future during a recent media briefing at the Anaheim Convention Center. He emphasized the importance of attention to detail and striving for perfection in every aspect of the park, from trash cans on Main Street USA to new attractions.
D'Amaro, who took over as CEO in March after overseeing Disney's theme parks, said that balancing classic and new attractions can be challenging. However, he reassured fans that Disney would always push for this balance, respecting legacy while taking bold steps into the future.
Walt Disney Imagineering undergoes a rigorous process when designing new theme parks, lands, and rides. According to D'Amaro, 'a lot of things, actually most things, are scrapped' if they don't meet high standards. He stressed that everything must be 'perfect' for the fans.
D'Amaro also discussed Disney's expansion into video games, which he believes helps ensure the next generation of fans fall in love with Disney characters and storytelling. He often sneaks into Disneyland to get an unscripted assessment of how the park is operating and to hear what fans like and dislike.
