Disney CEO D'Amaro Outlines Vision for Disneyland's Future, Prioritizing Perfection
Disney CEO Josh D'Amaro has outlined his vision for Disneyland's future, prioritizing attention to detail and striving for perfection. During a recent D23 media briefing in Anaheim, D'Amaro emphasized the importance of delivering an exceptional fan experience.
D'Amaro recalled his first meeting at Disneyland in 1998, where the debate centered on the placement of trash cans during construction on Main Street USA. He praised the level of detail and excellence shown by Disney's team at the time, stating that it was a defining moment for him.
Disney is currently undergoing significant expansions, including an Avengers Campus expansion set to open in 2028 and an ambitious Tomorrowland makeover. D'Amaro acknowledged the challenge of striking a balance between classic and new theme park attractions, but assured fans that Disney will always prioritize legacy while pushing forward into the future.
D'Amaro also discussed his approach to design, stating that Walt Disney Imagineering goes through a rigorous process when creating new theme parks, lands, and rides. 'A lot of things are scrapped,' he said. 'They're just put on the floor. We say it's not good enough, and we're going to start over and do it again.'
