Disney Commemorates 25th Anniversary of September 11 with Multiplatform Tribute
As the nation approaches the 25th anniversary of September 11, Disney Entertainment Television is launching a multiplatform commemoration to honor one of the most defining moments in American history. The initiative brings together ABC News, National Geographic, Disney+, Hulu, ABC Owned Television Stations, and ABC News Live for a live national broadcast from ABC News and WABC-TV New York.
The special will air on September 1 at 9:00 P.M. EDT and will explore how sports, music, Broadway, the media, and comedy helped a grieving nation begin to heal after the attacks. The primetime special is led by Good Morning America co-anchor Michael Strahan and will feature original documentary storytelling from National Geographic.
National Geographic's three-part docuseries '9/11 Reunited' premieres on August 21, chronicling emotional reunions between survivors and those who changed their lives. The series is produced in collaboration with the 9/11 Memorial & Museum and revisits the deadliest terrorist attacks in U.S. history through human connections formed amid chaos and heartbreak.
