Disney Cruise Line Expands Fleet with Three New Ships and Debut of Disney Believe
Disney Cruise Line has unveiled plans for its new ship class, which will join the fleet in 2029. The three vessels will have a capacity for around 3,000 guests and be roughly 20% larger than the Magic-class ships.
Claire Weiss, senior creative director at Walt Disney Imagineering, described the new class as occupying a 'deliberate middle ground' in the fleet, allowing for 'amazing opportunities to visit new places and reach brand new audiences we haven’t before.'
The expansion is part of a broader global push by Disney Experiences president Natacha Rafalski, who stated that the line's fleet would reach 13 ships by late calendar 2030. The new class will complement the existing Magic-class and larger Dream- and Wish-class vessels.
Design elements for Disney Believe, the fourth Wish-class ship, were also confirmed. The vessel will feature characters from Tinker Bell, Moana, and Toy Story throughout its design, including a stern showing Woody and Buzz Lightyear etching the ship's name in a block-crayon font.
