Disney Cruise Line Speeds Up Fleet Expansion Plans
Disney Cruise Line has accelerated its fleet expansion plans, with all 13 ships expected to be operational by the end of 2030. The revised schedule was outlined in The Walt Disney Company's third-quarter fiscal 2026 results.
The original plan called for the completion of the 13-ship fleet by 2031, but Disney has brought forward the introduction of two new ships and adjusted the delivery timeline for its next-generation vessels. This means that three Disney-branded ships are now expected to enter service in late 2029.
The new class of ships, positioned between the Magic-class and Dream-class vessels in size, will comprise approximately 100,000 gross tons with capacity for around 3,000 passengers. The first ship of this new class is scheduled to be delivered in late 2029, followed by another in early 2030.
The accelerated programme follows a period of rapid fleet expansion, with Disney Adventure entering service in Southeast Asia in March 2026 and Disney Destiny joining the fleet in late 2025. The expanded fleet aims to extend the brand's presence into additional markets and departure regions.
