Disney D23 Event Unveils Big Plans for Theme Parks
At Disney's D23 event in Anaheim, California, Disney fans were treated to several big announcements about upcoming theme park attractions and updates. The biggest surprise of the night was the return of Dreamfinder, a beloved character from EPCOT's Journey into Imagination, who will be reunited with Figment in a new take on the classic attraction.
Disney's Experiences Chairman Thomas Mazloum told USA TODAY that the company is listening to its fans and making sure they're developing attractions that are important to them. He mentioned that Dreamfinder's comeback was a long-overdue request from Disney enthusiasts.
In addition to the return of Dreamfinder, Disneyland will be reimagining its Tomorrowland area, which will include new attractions and more open spaces. The park is also getting a new Expedition Everest yeti, which was originally intended to move but has been stuck in one place since its introduction.
