Disney Ditches Health Insurance for Working Spouses
The Walt Disney Company has announced plans to change its US employee healthcare benefits by removing medical insurance coverage for working spouses who have access to health insurance through their own employers.
This decision, set to take effect next year, will only apply to spouses of Disney employees who are eligible for medical coverage through their workplaces. Those whose employers do not provide health insurance or those who are unemployed will continue to be eligible for Disney's medical plan.
The company cited rising healthcare costs across the US as the reason behind this change. Disney stated that it is making adjustments to its employee benefits in response to these increasing expenses. The move follows thousands of workforce reductions at the company and reflects a wider shift in employer benefits strategies.
