Disney Ditches Tabasco for Tapatio in Theme Park Restaurants
Walt Disney World has made a subtle change to its condiment lineup by replacing Tabasco sauce packets with Tapatio hot sauce packets in some of its restaurants. This move comes after Disney's partnership with Kraft Heinz, which has been transforming the parks' condiment counters.
The switch was first spotted at ABC Commissary in Disney's Hollywood Studios, where Tabasco packets were no longer available and Tapatio packets took their place instead. According to reports, the swap is being rolled out across Disney World restaurants, meaning fans of the distinctive vinegary kick of Tabasco may have to bring their own bottles if they want it with their theme-park grub.
For hot sauce aficionados, the change is hardly an even swap. While both sauces are made from red peppers and salt, Tapatio combines these ingredients with spices, garlic, and other additives giving it a thicker consistency and a different flavor profile than Tabasco.
