Disney Dives Deeper into Short-Form Content with TikTok Deal
Disney is shifting its focus to younger audiences with a new deal on TikTok and a suite of spin-offs pitched at Gen Z viewers, including Ariel, The Lion Guard, Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures, and Descendants: The Rise of Red.
The company's Verts, short-form content similar to YouTube Shorts and Netflix Clips, will expand into fan-created content under the new deal with TikTok.
Disney's strategy includes a $US1.5 billion investment in Epic Games, laying down digital bedrock for gamers to engage with Disney IP inside Fortnite gameplay environment.
The studio has also unveiled a substantial new slate for Pixar, including Incredibles 3, Coco 2, and Frozen 3, as well as original films Gatto and Ghost Market.
