Disney Entertainment Television Commemorates 25th Anniversary of 9/11 with Multiplatform Tribute
Disney Entertainment Television is commemorating the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, with a multiplatform tribute. The initiative brings together ABC News, National Geographic, Disney+, Hulu, and other platforms for a unique commemoration. This collective effort aims to honor those who were lost, reflect on the lasting impact of the attacks, and preserve these stories for future generations.
The tribute will include live broadcasts from New York City's Lower Manhattan, special documentaries, digital experiences, and educational content developed in conjunction with the 9/11 Memorial & Museum. One of the key events is '9/11 Reunited,' a three-part docuseries that revisits the human connections formed on September 11 through the reunions between survivors and those who changed their lives.
The initiative also includes interactive digital experiences, such as an expansive video archive of never-before-seen footage and exclusive interviews. National Geographic will publish original reportage on the annual 'Tribute in Light' public art installation, including exclusive photography by renowned architectural photographer Christopher Payne.
