Disney/ESPN Execs Iger, Aikman, and Dove Enter Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame
Three prominent figures from The Walt Disney Company/ESPN family have been selected for induction into the Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame Class of 2026. Robert A. Iger, former Chairman and CEO of Disney, will join longtime NFL analyst Troy Aikman and veteran production staffer Jim Dove in the prestigious group.
Iger's legacy is a testament to his enduring impact on the sports TV industry. During his tenure at Disney, he oversaw ESPN's transformation into a preeminent digital sports platform, expanding its reach across television, digital, streaming, and direct-to-consumer platforms. He was instrumental in securing a groundbreaking agreement with the NFL and spearheaded numerous landmark strategic initiatives, including the acquisitions of Pixar, Marvel, Lucasfilm, and 21st Century Fox.
Aikman, a stalwart presence behind the microphone for over two decades, will be honored for his work alongside fellow Sports Broadcasting Hall of Famer Joe Buck. The duo has called more than 400 regular-season games and numerous high-profile playoff matches, cementing their status as one of the most consistent broadcasting tandems in the NFL.
Dove's nearly four-decade tenure at ESPN has seen him pioneer innovative technologies, including 4K zoom and pylon goal line replays. A two-time Sports Emmy winner, Dove continues to shape the network's productions, having worked on numerous high-profile events, including Super Bowls and Wimbledon.
